A smoky blues bar story mythology about Robert Johnson’s ghost.
What are the consequences for following your dream?
Set the scene: Robert Johnson used to play this ol’ Juke Joint. He was awful. He went away. He came back and everyone was happy to see him but wanted to cringe when he took the stage; until he started playing. This song takes an inside look at the consequence of desire. Johnson wanted to play and was consumed enough to follow the music. His legend lives on.

Reviews:

On Devil’s Star (The Ghost of Robert Johnson): “This is defiantly New Orleans' Blues. You rare a wonderful singer/songwriter and the way you sang Devil’s Star blew me away. I find myself singing it in the shower” Greg Baker, track drummer and former drummer for the Village People.

On Devil’s Star: “Holy-moly that’s sexy as fuck! It’s shadowy and it calls you to a place you can’t deny or refuse. Very seductive, in a devilish way I love!”- Stacey Govon-iZito, Plymouth MA.

Lyrics

Welcome devil, I wanna play. Mystic fingers hypnotize. Take those strings and bend their Will. You will play here until your demise.
Demon shroud, smoke-sea rising. There are no crossroads here. Devil's crowd. Sinners writhing. Mystic fingers weave your web. and play on in the backroom bar. Play on your old blues guitar. Play on in the backroom bar. Play on you devil's star.
We are all drowning in the smoke-sea sin. Come on in and play awhile. Lucifer is howling at the troubles we get in, when the spirit moves that guitar.
Play on, in the backroom bar. Play on you beat-up blues guitar. Play on in the backroom bar. Play on you devil's star.
Through the mist. If you dare. The ghost of Robert Johnson's playing there. Every shred of desire on the strings. The fire of the soul makes that guitar sing. You are welcome to the mystery, women, men, and all. Feel the Mississippi Delta sway and play on, in the backroom bar. Play on your mean old blues guitar. Play on in the backroom bar. Play on you devil. play on, play on you devil. Play on play on you devil's star.
