Midday Special, an instrumental tribute, dedicated to the Delta Blues style of guitar pioneer, Elizabeth Cotton.
The Midday Special is the afternoon train that would come through town, right about lunchtime, carrying my midday dreams. I came through, traveling from parts unknown; going to adventures yet defined. An exciting event!
The guitar has that comfortable, fun, feeling of anticipation. Waiting to see that fine machine rumble through, with it's cast of characters. I imagine Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, heroes, villains, and brave ladies off on adventures! It always arrives and leaves. You can hear the waiting, in the guitar, as the clock ticks by until I hear it coming around again!
